What to Do While Your Dancer Is in Class

Your dancer is in class, the music is on, and you officially have a little pocket of time in your day. So… what should you do with it?

The answer: whatever works best for you!

Stay and catch a peek at class, chat with another LDP parent, grab a coffee, knock out an errand, take a walk, or simply enjoy a little quiet time. Dance class can be a great hour for your dancer AND for you.

Staying at LDP? We’re Happy to Have You!

We love seeing our LDP families around the studio! With lots of dancers coming and going throughout the afternoon and evening, our hallways can definitely get busy during peak class times.

If you’d like to stay and watch, we have multiple viewing screens throughout the studio, so feel free to find a comfortable spot, spread out, and catch a peek at what your dancer is working on.

It’s also a great chance to get to know the families you see each week! Say hi to another parent, chat with the moms and dads from your dancer’s class, or make plans to grab a coffee together. Some pretty great friendships can start during that weekly dance-class hour!

Heading Out? That’s Great, Too!

Once your dancer is comfortable heading into class independently, you are always welcome to use that time however you’d like.

Our team has your contact information on file, and if your dancer needs you for any reason, we’ll reach out!

So if you have an hour to spare, here are a few of our favorite ways to spend class time nearby…

Grab a Coffee

World Traveler Coffee Roasters
One of our local favorites! Grab a coffee, catch up on emails, read a book, or invite another LDP parent along for a little coffee date.

Starbucks
Super convenient for a quick coffee, snack, or mobile-order pickup.

Peet’s Coffee
Another great nearby option for a little caffeine and downtime.

Get Some Fresh Air

Lembi Park
Right across the street from LDP! Take a walk, bring a younger sibling to the playground, listen to a podcast, or just enjoy some fresh air.

Make Class Time Your Workout Time

24 Hour Fitness
Your dancer is getting their movement in… you can, too! Fit in a workout and be back in time for pickup.

Sneak In a Little Self-Care

Spring Nail Spa 2
Right in the shopping center and perfect for fitting in a manicure or pedicure during a longer class.

Eastern F & B Massage
Turn dance class into a little relaxation break with a nearby massage.

Solve the Dinner Problem

Maybe the greatest use of dance-class time of all: figuring out dinner BEFORE everyone is hungry.

Jersey Mike’s is right in the shopping center, and Chipotle and La Bou are nearby for another quick and easy dinner option.

Grab dinner while your dancer is in class and suddenly your evening just got a whole lot easier.

Knock Out an Errand… or Three

An uninterrupted hour of errand time? We’ll take it!

Trader Joe’s, Target, and Raley’s are all nearby, making it easy to grab groceries, pick up an order, or check a few things off your list while your dancer is dancing.

There are also banks, a post office, shops, and plenty of other everyday stops close to the studio.

Or… Do Absolutely Nothing

This might be our favorite option.

Sit in your car. Read a book. Listen to a podcast. Catch up on emails. Scroll your phone. Enjoy a little quiet.

Whether you stay and watch, meet another dance parent, or head out for a little “you” time, there’s no wrong way to spend class time.

Your dancer gets their time to move, learn, connect, and shine.

And you get to decide what that hour looks like for you.
