ACRO DANCE: Our Acro Dance program offers students training in a variety of skills beginning with cartwheels, handstands, and back-walkovers.  As skills improve, students move on to master more exhilarating challenges such as back-handsprings, aerials, back-tucks and passes. Taught by an experienced gymnastics coach with classes developed specifically with dancers in mind, students can apply their Acro Dance skills to their dance training.

BALLET: Ballet at LDP focuses on proper body placement, balance, flexibility, alignment and technique—achieved both through barre and floor work.  Ballet is important as it provides a skill used in all dance techniques.

CONTEMPORARY: Our Contemporary program combines elements of several dance genres including modern, jazz, lyrical and classical ballet. Contemporary dancers strive to connect the mind and body through fluid dance movements. It is a style dance that stresses versatility and improvisation, unlike the structured nature of ballet. Contemporary dancers focus on floor work, using gravity to pull them down to the floor. This is a genre of dance that can be done to many different styles of music, and is often performed in bare feet.

HIP HOP: At LDP, Hip Hop includes a series of cool, energetic steps, set to age-appropriate music and movement. Teaching rhythm and coordination, students are challenged to think on their feet, often with few limitations, while enjoying a fast-paced dance class popular with both boys and girls.  

JAZZ: LDP Jazz classes focus on strength, flexibility, conditioning technique, progressions, musicality and rhythm; including turns, kicks and leaps.  Dancers will learn fun and popular dance steps used for all forms of dance; it is a well-rounded class using a variety of all dance steps. Choreography is taught to popular and age appropriate music of today, along with vintage styles of jazz from previous decades.

TAP: The LDP Tap program focuses on building a strong foundation in tap fundamentals by integrating the various styles of tap dancing: Classical Tap, Broadway-Style Tap, and Rhythm Tap. Each class focuses on technique, as well as explores improvisation and musicality. We will always strive for the three “C’s” of tap dance: make it “Clean”, make it “Clear”, and make it “Crisp”.

ZUMBA!: Our Zumba! classes bring a blend of Latin and International music, creating lively and exhilarating dance workouts with low & high intensity dance moves. The routines feature aerobic/fitness interval training, with a combination of fast and slow rhythms inspired to sculpt the body.  This class provides muscle conditioning, balance and flexibility, and guarantees a boost in energy as you can’t help but shout out the WOOT-WOOT on the dance floor!
